Selama tujuh dekade, Ikapi terus bertumbuh bersama dinamika kemajuan bangsa Indonesia berbasis buku. Setiap satu kali dalam lima tahun, sesuai AD/ARTnya, Ikapi melaksanakan Musyawarah Nasional (Munas). Munas merupakan forum musyawarah tertinggi Ikapi di tingkat Pusat dan diikuti oleh Pengurus Pusat, Dewan Pertimbangan Pusat, Pengurus Daerah, Pengurus Cabang, Anggota Biasa, dan Peninjau.
Selain pertanggungjawaban Pengurus Pusat dan laporan Dewan Pertimbangan Pusat, Munas adalah forum untuk menetapkan AD/ART, memilih ketua umum, serta menetapkan arah kebijakan Ikapi.
Pada 2025 ini, Munas Ikapi menginjak penyelenggaraan ke-20 dan mengusung tema “Relevan, Resilien, Revolusioner: Penerbit Indonesia di Era Baru Literasi. Munas XX Ikapi akan dilaksanakan pada 19-21 November 2025 di Jakarta.
